Called meeting (updated December 14, 2006)
There will be a called meeting of the Administrative and Professional Assembly to be held Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 2:30 PM, 213 Foy, for the purpose of voting on two revisions to the A&P Constitution: (1) Increasing the number of absences allowed representatives; and (2) language resolving discrepency related to grievance policy adopted by AU administration and the A&P Constitution. Please see the PowerPoint summarizing the changes in the Grievance Policy. There is also a summary document with text of both recommendations and detatils related to the Grievance policy recommendation.

Secretary election results (updated November 30, 2006)
Congratulations to Julie Nolen, Office of Development, and Place 7, who was elected Secretary at the November 28 meeting. She serves the unexpired term ending March 31, 2007.

Called meeting (updated November 13, 2006)
There will be a called meeting of the Administrative and Professional Assembly to be held Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at 3:30 PM, 213 Foy, for the purpose of electing a Secretary to serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending March 31,2007. The election is necessary because of the resignation of the Secretary. Candidates for the office of Secretary are: Julie Nolen, Office of Development and John Owen, College of Agriculture. The consititution requires 15 days notice to the Assembly.

Next meeting (updated November 7, 2006)
The next meeting of the Administrative and Professional Assembly will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2006, 2:30-4:00 PM, 213 Foy Union. Emily Mann, R.N., Director of Pharmaceutical Care Center, will provide information about the services of AUPCC, and the recently opened dispensing pharmacy. Business includes: (1) consideration of a proposal to resolve the inconsistencies between the A&P Constitution and the current Grievance Policy and Procedure which became effective March 1, 2006; and (2) consideration of a proposal to increase the number of absences allowed from meetings of the assembly by a representative.

The next meeting of the Administrative and Professional Assembly will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2006, 2:30-4:00 PM, 213 Foy Union. President Richardson will present comments and answer questions. There will also be a report from the Ad hoc Committee on Grievance and the Constitution. See the agenda.

Seeking Committee Nominations (updated June 19,2006)

The A&P Nominations & Elections Committee is accepting nominations for vacancies on various A&P committees. A&P employees are encouraged to nominate others or themselves for service. Terms begin Oct. 1 and expire Sept. 30, 2009. Submit nominations along with completed bio form to Karen Rankin by Thursday, July 6.

Assembly Representative Retreat (updated June 7, 2006)

Representatives will be in retreat Friday, June 9 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM for the purpose of receiving training and information. No Assembly business will be transacted during the retreat. At the conclusion of the retreat a summary of the happenings will be posted on this website. See the agenda here.

Characteristics Important in Next Auburn University President (updated May 11,2006)

All A&P employees are encouraged to complete the survey of preferences for characteristics important in the next Auburn University President. Results of the survey will be forwarded to the Presidential Search Committee.

Session I: University Staff Employee Group (8:30-9:30 a.m.)

Session II: Administrative & Professional Employee Group (10-11 a.m.)

Session III: Students (11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

Session IV: Faculty (1:30 - 2:30 p.m.)

Session V: Community (3 - 4 p.m.)
All forums are open if you are unable to attend the forum assigned to a particular group.

This is your opportunity to provide personal input to the search committee.

next meetingA&P Assembly Seeks Nominations (updated Feb. 13, 2006)

Nominations are now being accepted through March 3, 2006 for Assembly representatives. Persons elected will serve a three-year term from April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2009.
 
The open places are Place 1, Facilities; Place 6, Information Technology; Place 8, Alumni & Student Affairs; Place 11, College of Engineering; Place 17, Business & Finance.
 
Unexpired terms will also be filled in Place 5, ACES & Outreach with term ending 2007; Place 15 (two seats), College of Agriculture with terms ending 2007 & 2008.

Nominations may be made by any A & P employee. Only employees in designated areas will vote to elect their representatives.
 
Voting will be done electronically during the week of March 13 - 20, 2006. Paper ballots will be available for those who do not have internet access and may be requested.
 

Nominations and request for paper ballots should be forwarded to Karen Rankin, rankikm@auburn.edu, 844-5116, Chair of the A & P Nominations and Elections Committee. Nominations should be accom panied by a brief biography of the person being nominated. Bio form is available here.

At the next A&P Assembly meeting on Thursday, February 9, there will be an election of officers to serve from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007. Those positions are:Chair Elect, Secretary, and 3 At-Large representatives.
