Lighting Retrofits

Auburn University has performed lighting retrofits on 31 buildings around campus. The retrofits replace the T12 fluorescent bulbs and ballasts with the T8's. Depending on the size bulbs and the number of bulbs per fixture, as much as 30 – 35% of the power can be reduced. Technology is continuing to improve in this area. All of the new buildings being constructed contain the T8 bulbs instead of the T12. Auburn University will continue to watch this technology to make sure we are optimizing our savings.
