CO2 Monitoring

Carbon dioxide monitors are used to help measure the amount of carbon dioxide in the air that is returned to an air handler from a conditioned space. We have installed monitors in one air handler of three campus buildings: Parker Hall, AU Medical Clinic and Thach Hall. These monitors allow us to close the outside air dampers when the building occupancy drops low enough that subsequent outside air is not required. This process is allowing us to save energy by conditioning less outside air.
