Mechanical Shop

The Mechanical Shop provides heating, cooling, ventilation, duct installation and repair to the campus. They provide a preventive maintenance team that changes the air filters and cleans the mechanical systems throughout campus. They insulate chilled water lines, hot water lines, steam lines and other lines as needed. The Mechanical Shop has a technician on campus 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and has other people on call 24 hours per day. The primary function of the Mechanical Shop is to provide a comfortable environment for the students, faculty and staff.

Some of the common functions and services provided by the Mechanical Shop are:

• Maintenance of gutters, boilers, chillers cooling towers, motors and related items
  
  
• Repair and replacement of air compressors, air handlers, pumps, duct and other HVAC items
  
  
• Repair and maintenance of refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers and related items
  
  
• Domestic hot water and steam system maintenance
  
  
• Emergency generator repair and maintenance
  
  
• Elevator maintenance through elevator maintenance contractor
