Auburn University generates records that contain information that could be misused. Some examples are personnel records, student records, unused athletic tickets, financial records, and health records. Shredding of University records is available through the Facilities Management to ensure proper the contents are recycled and disposed of properly.
Facilities Management hosts quarterly Document Shredding Day at the Food Service Building (151 South Donahue Drive) loading dock from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Departments must drop off materials to be shredded at the loading dock between the times listed above. Participating departments will be charged $3 per box for shredding, as well as a labor fee if a pick-up is needed. If transportation help is needed, contact the Facilities Management Help Desk and request a work order (844-4357).
All departments must prepare the form Certificate of Records Destruction in accordance with the instructions printed on the form. This Certificate must be submitted at least 72 hours before the schedule shredding date.
Remove large binder clips (1 inch wide or greater) and 3-ring binders.
