Auburn University Announces Recycling Results

AUBURN UNIVERSITY - The Waste Reduction and Recycling Department (WRRD) has released the results of Auburn University's 2013 recycling activities.

Last year, the university recycled 326 tons of paper, 218 tons of cardboard, and 68 tons of containers (plastic bottles, aluminum cans, steel cans). Auburn also recycled scrap metal, toner and ink jet cartridges, electronics, and construction and demolition debris (like gypsum, concrete, and wood from buildings).

Gameday Recycling Program Diverts More Than 40 Tons of Material

AUBURN UNIVERSITY - Auburn University Tiger fans recycled 40.6 tons of material during the 2013 football season. Fans recycled 81,200 pounds of material, a 56 percent increase over the previous season.

Gameday Recycling is an opportunity for the university to demonstrate to the campus community that recycling and waste reduction activities are not limited to the home. Sporting events generate a large amount of waste, much of which can be recycled.

Auburn University, East Alabama Recycling Partnership to Host Community-Wide Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding Event

AUBURN UNIVERSITY - Auburn University, in conjunction with the East Alabama Recycling Partnership (EARP) and Keep Opelika Beautiful, will host an electronics recycling and document shredding event Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Saugahatchee Square, 3700 Pepperell Parkway, Opelika. The event is free and open to the public.
