Work Management is responsible for providing customers with a direct link to maintenance and construction needs provided by Facilities. Work orders for the Facilities' shops are generated based on customer requests received through the HELP line (4-4357) or the internet (web based Work Request Form). After normal working hours and on weekends, assistance to customers is provided through an answering service. The answering service will promptly communicate the nature of the caller's problem to the appropriate personnel using our after hours call-in manual. The goal of Work Management is to provide prompt and courteous service for the students, faculty and staff.

Some of the common functions and services provided by Work Management are:

  • Handle emergency calls

  • Initiate work requests

  • Notification of utility outages

  • Notification of road closures

  • Maintain web based Work Request Form

Materials ManagementMaterials Management maintains the stockroom for the Facilities Division including shop materials, access control inventory, electrical distribution inventory, utility services inventory and office supplies. The function of the Materials Management is to accurately maintain the correct inventory in support of the Facilities' shops in order to ensure timely response to maintenance problems, thus providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff.

Some of the common functions and services provided by Materials Management are:

  • Purchase materials for four warehouses

  • Purchase non-inventory and emergency materials for Facilities Division shops and also outside contractors

  • Data entry of material purchase into computer system

  • Verifies invoices to material purchase for payments

  • Manages bi-annual audit of capital equipment

  • Prepares requisitions for annual purchase orders
