The Building Services Department manages the custodial/floor care services that are provided by the outsourced contractor and the in house staff. We provide a variety of daily services through the Service Support Unit. We are responsible for setting up for special event and providing stockroom supplies and equipment for the entire University. The primary function of Building Services is to provide a safe, clean, healthy environment for the students, faculty and staff.

Services provided by Building Services that require a work order:

Emergency calls, floods, hazardous spills, etc.
Special events, graduation, blood drive, President home activities and dedications
Special floor care services

Services provided by Building Services that do NOT require a work order:

General daily cleaning of building
Daily floor care cleaning

Departments under Building Services include:

Floor Maintenance keeps the tile floors clean and shiny and the carpets shampooed and stain free in house buildings and other departments within the University by work request.

In-house Custodial Services provides interior cleaning services in the academic, classroom and laboratory buildings starting at 5:00 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., and emergency call in service.

Outsourced Contract Custodial Services provides interior cleaning services in the academic, classroom and laboratory buildings starting at 5:00 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., and emergency call in service..

Service Support moves furniture, equipment, set up for special events for the entire University by work requests.

Waste Management/Recycling encourages and expands recycling, waste diversion and reuse programs and promotes efforts to decrease the amount of waste produced on campus in order to reduce the amount of waste in our local landfill.
