Interior Design
Interior Design Services - The Space Planning and Interior Design group within the Office of Space Planning & Management:
- Develops original Furnishings and Finishes line item for project budgets. Collaborates with Campus Planning, Facilities Design & Construction Project Managers (PM), and Design Consultants as the project budget is revised throughout the life of the project.
- Maintains, updates and oversees Auburn University Design & Construction Guidelines – specific to Interior Design items.
- Works with PM for projects utilizing outside Interior Design Consultants services. Provides primary oversight relative to:
- Furnishings and finishes selection, approval and specification;
- Furnishings and finishes budget, and serves as liaison between PM, AU user/client, and design consultants in the procurement and installation of furnishings and finish items.
- Reviews project initiation forms for:
- Information needed by Facilities Design & Construction, such as comments relevant to interior finishes, furnishings cost for estimate, etc.;
- Alert Space Planning & Interior Design (SP & ID) to projects that will need interior design services;
- Direct PIF directly to SP& ID for action – provide assistance to university users for furnishings selection and procurement.
- Provides interior design services to campus users for in-house projects:
- Assist users with space planning;
- Assist users with furnishings budget;
- Assist users in furnishings and finish selections, procurement, and installation;
- Provide interior design assistance, primarily finish selection and assistance in writing material/installation specifications, to Facilities Design & Construction for in-house projects.
- Works with Facilities Design & Construction in the engaging of interior designers for interior design services on campus.
- Develops and establishes annual bids for interior design furnishings and finishes, as needed.
