Dr. Clarence J.C. Stewart, IV is Auburn University's Assistant Vice President for Campus Safety and Compliance. Prior to this, he served as the Assistant Police Chief for the City of Auburn since 2020, leveraging his impressive 20-year tenure with the Auburn Police Department that commenced in 2003 as a Patrol Officer.

Dr. Stewart has an impressive academic and professional journey. Born in Harlem, New York, and raised in the close-knit Valley, Alabama, he developed a profound appreciation for diverse perspectives and a strong sense of community values.

A veteran, Dr. Stewart proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1999.

His dedication to academic excellence is paralleled by his commitment to the community. He completed the prestigious National FBI Academy in 2019. In 2021, he attained a PhD in Adult Education from Auburn University, complementing his two degrees from Troy University. His academic pursuits focus on critical areas such as emotional intelligence, employee satisfaction, and law enforcement burnout, emphasizing the holistic well-being of law enforcement professionals.
