Free Application for Federal Student Aid - FAFSA - This is required to determine your eligibility for federal aid programs.
Direct Loans - Auburn University participates in the Direct Loan Program. Visit these links for the required Entrance Interview, Master Promissory Note (MPN), and Exit Interview.
Direct Loan Entrance Counseling
Students must complete the Entrance Counseling requirement before Direct Loan funds can be disbursed. Student loan entrance counseling provides details about what a student loan is, advice on how much you should borrow, and when you should expect to repay your loans. After you complete the requirement and submit your information, Direct Loans will notify our office electronically within 24-48 hours that you have completed the requirement.
Esign Direct Loan MPN
All students receiving a Direct Loan must E-sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) prior to disbursement. Your FAFSA PIN is required in order to E-sign.
Direct Loan Exit Counseling
During the term that you expect to graduate and/or if you drop below half time enrollment, you will be asked to complete an Exit Interview if you have had a Stafford or Direct student loan while at AU. Your FAFSA PIN is required in order to complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling. It is very important to notify your lender(s) of address changes so that you will receive your repayment information when your grace period ends.

Direct Loan Consolidation
If you have received loans from multiple lenders, it may be advantageous to consolidate your multiple loans into a single payment.

The Financial Aid Information Page provides a free, comprehensive, independent, and objective guide to student financial aid including financial aid estimators and calculators.
National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
Students may access this site to review financial aid history. You must have a Federal PIN in order to access your data.
Selective Service System
If you are a male (US Citizen) aged 18 to 26, to be eligible for financial aid programs you must be registered with Selective Service. It's the law.
National Student Loan Clearinghouse
This site provides Enrollment Verification and Loan Deferment Services.
Financial Awareness Counseling
Financial Awareness Counseling is an optional online tool that provides information to help you understand your financial aid and assist you in managing your finances. This tool is separate from Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and does not satisfy the Entrance Counseling requirement for Direct Loans.
