Benefits of Participation

Presenting academic work in a formal setting is a mark of an unusual degree of accomplishment in your undergraduate studies. It is also excellent preparation for graduate school applications and other future presentations. Participants list their presentations on resumes and graduate school and fellowship applications.

As you prepare your presentation with your faculty advisor, you will grow in your ability to articulate your concepts through poster or platform presentations that use both verbal and graphic forms of explanation.

You may be contemplating presentation of your research at regional or national meetings.  Presenting your materials before a friendly home audience will give you confidence and will allow you to further hone your presentation before moving on to a larger forum.

The leaders of science, art and industry tomorrow will need more interdisciplinary skills than in the past, and the Auburn University Undergraduate Research Forum will provide an excellent forum for networking with various faculty and other students across a wide variety of disciplines.
