Spring 2002 Chapter Meeting in Boone, North Carolina: The chapter will meet with the Association of Southeastern Biologists (ASB) April 10-13, 2002 at Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. The Chapter will hold its annual luncheon and business meeting on Friday April 12 at 12:15-1:45 in the Integon Room immediately after the ASB business meeting. Cost for the luncheon is $15.

Revisions to the Bylaws/Student Poster Award. Further proposed revisions to the Bylaws have been posted to the chapter website: http://www.auburn.edu/seesa/; these will be voted on at this spring's annual business meeting. An annual student poster award has been suggested.

Elections for Chair and Secretary-Treasurer: Elections for Chair and Secretary-Treasurer of the Chapter will be held at the Spring 2002 meeting with the terms of the new officers beginning in August 2002. Persons interested in being candidates for either of these two positions should contact Pat Parr parrpd@ornl.gov, phone 865-576-8123) immediately. The nominees and their bios posted on the website by the end of February.

Student Lunches: The Southeastern chapter will be awarding 5 graduate student ESA members a stipend to cover the luncheon costs of this year's annual business meeting on April 12 at the ASB meeting. Interested graduate students should email nsnicholas@tva.gov for more information.

2002 Odum Award: The Chapter will award the Eugene P. Odum Award for the best ecological paper presented by a student at the ASB meeting.

Odum Award and Fund: The Chapter sponsors the Eugene P. Odum Award for the best ecological paper presented by a student at the ASB meeting. Please donate to the Chapter's Odum Fund when you renew your membership.

Future Meetings and Symposia: The 2002 ESA Meeting will be held August 4-8 in Tucson, Arizona with the Society for Ecological Restoration. Check the meeting web site for additional information http://www.esa.org/Tucson/index.html.
