| NEW PERSPECTIVES
ON THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY (NPEC)
XVIII New Perspectives on the Eighteenth Century is an annual publication sponsored by the Southeastern American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (SEASECS) that seeks to provide insight into the best current scholarly research and writing on the long eighteenth century. Presenters at the annual SEASECS meeting are encouraged to submit a publishable version of their papers within two months after the annual meeting. However, submission is open to all eighteenth-century scholars in all fields of inquiry; non-members are required to join SEASECS at the time of submission. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly welcome. Manuscripts should not exceed 5000 words (the number of words should appear on the cover sheet), excluding notes, and should be prepared according to the latest edition of the Chicago Manual of Style . Submissions may be sent to the Editor electronically, or by mail (three hard copies). Final copies of the articles must reach the Editor electronically, in a publishable WordPerfect format. NPEC has a policy of blind review; therefore, the author's name should not appear on the manuscript. The cover page should include the author's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and email, as well as the title of the article and date of submission. Articles should normally be written in English, and all quotations in other languages should be translated into English, with the original in parentheses, if necessary. Longer quotations in a foreign language should appear in a note. Pages should be numbered, using an abbreviated title of the article. All queries and correspondence regarding NPEC , excluding book reviews, should be addressed to the Editor: Samia I. Spencer, Editor Correspondence and inquiries regarding reviews of books concerning British and American literature, history, or culture, should be addressed to: Katherine Green Correspondence regarding reviews of books concerning European (excluding British) or other literature, history, or culture, should be addressed to: Kathleen Hardesty Doig The Book Review Editors welcome suggestions for book reviews; however, unsolicited reviews will not be accepted. Reviews must not exceed 700 words, excluding title of book, and name of reviewer. Review essays may exceed that number; however, prior arrangements must be made with the book review editor, first. All submissions must be sent double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12, using the latest version of WordPerfect. The views contained in the articles and book reviews represent the sole opinions of their authors, not those of the editors, Auburn University , SEASECS, the Editorial Board, or the editorial staff. |
