![]() Construction of a three-building science laboratory center is underway. Within the center, a four-story building will house the undergraduate teaching laboratories for chemistry and biology. A two-story building will accommodate classrooms of various sizes, the dean's office; and a 300- seat auditorium that will provide means for the latest in technology supplemented instruction. As with the auditorium, the entire complex will feature space-age instrumentation and technology to accommodate all levels of instruction and technological features to meet the needs of the 21st Century student. We anticipate the Official ground breaking in April 2003 with occupancy completed by mid 2005. The building cluster will be placed in the vicinity of Parker Hall with the demolition of Saunders Hall to accompany the project. More details of the groundbreaking will be forthcoming. In addition to providing an exceptional teaching environment, the construction will commence a major project that is envisioned to result in a College of Sciences and Mathematics academic park that will feature considerable green space with the college's buildings oriented around the park in a quadrangle fashion. |
