The genera Acanthicus, Pseudacanthicus,
Megalancistrus, and
Leporacanthicus are closely related and very similar in appearance. All are large fishes with well developed odontodes forming keels on the lateral plates and 8 or more dorsal-fin rays. Click on the links above or below to get to the individual pages for the genera.
