The easy answer is: you'll get better grades in Mathematics!
The University of Kentucky started the MathExcel program in 1990. In seven of sixteen semesters, the students in MathExcel scored at least one letter grade better than those students in the traditional Calculus classes. In every semester, the students in MathExcel did better than those other students. See the web page MathExcel at the University of Kentucky to see the results.
I have been teaching Mathematics at the university level since 1976. I've taught at Case-Western Reserve University, the University of Michigan, the University of Cincinnati, Northwestern University, and, for the last 18 years, at Auburn University. One of the main problems I've seen that students have when studying Mathematics is that when they try to work the exercises, they invariably go down the wrong path. They spend hours and reams of paper "mis-solving" the problems. The students don't learn the material since they are reinforcing incorrect concepts and ideas. When their answers don't match those in the answers in the back of the book, they become frustrated and feel that they have been wasting their time. And it's true, they have been wasting their time!
In the MathExcel Workshops, when you start to go down a "wrong path" the staff will stop your progress and direct you to the "right path". This saves you time and reinforces the correct procedure. You can do more exercises, correctly, in the same amount of time. Be aware, though, that the staff is not going to do the work for you. This is a collaborative effort. The only way that you are going to learn the material is by doing the work. Always keep in mind that:
