Pre-Health Programs
It should be clearly understood that degrees are NOT awarded in pre-health professional programs. Students must declare a major at the end of their sophomore year. It is advisable to choose a major that would be your second choice should you not be accepted to a professional school. This major can be in any area, not just the sciences, but it must include the specific admission requirements of the professional program to which you aspire. Students who major in programs outside the College of Sciences and Mathematics should take the Pre-Health Professions Orientation Course, offered fall term only, to become informed of the options available in the health professions. Thereafter, students must maintain contact with advisors in the College of Sciences and Mathematics for information about taking the appropriate courses and guidance during the application process to the professional schools. |
