Summer Y.E.S. Camp is the place for you!

The Youth Experiences in Science camp, sponsored by the Auburn University College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM), is a summer-camp experience for rising first- through ninth-grade students. Summer Y.E.S. is designed to give quality science and math activities and instruction, with mini-courses offered in ecology, chemistry, microbiology, forensics, physics, and genetics, just to name a few. Classes are taught by university faculty and exceptional public and private school teachers, all having significant experience with K-12 Outreach programs. Class sizes are kept small enough to receive personal attention from the instructors (typically 14 to 20 students per class). The staff to camper ratio is approximately 1:10 for classes and 1:15 for nightly activities.

During this action-filled camp, students will explore electronics, chemistry, forensics, bacteria, river creatures, and more. Activities will include take-home materials for campers to continue their explorations of science. At Summer Y.E.S., science is not taught by reading texts or taking notes, rather we find that students can learn more and retain information better by performing experiments, building projects and experiencing the practical side of science.
