Groupwise Configuration in Mail

1. Set up your account: Open Mail. If this is the first time you've opened Mail, you'll see the Welcome to Mail dialog.

Otherwise, choose Preferences from the Mail menu, click Accounts, then click the plus button (lower left corner).

Enter the following information:

Incoming Mail Server: tigerin.auburn.edu

Account Type: IMAP

User Name: is your AU login name; your email address minus @auburn.edu

Password: your AU password; update it regularly at http://www.auburn.edu/password.

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): tigerout.auburn.edu

Click OK, then dismiss any welcome messages that appear. You can learn more about Mail by choosing Mail Help from the Help menu later.


3. Set up synchronization: Click the Special Mailboxes button in the Account Preferences window from step two. Check the boxes as indicated below to have mail keep your Drafts, Sent, Junk, and Trash folders synchronized. This way, you'll see items you sent from Mail in the Sent folder via the TigerMail web page.
