Drop in Center

 

The COSAM Minority Drop-In Center, established in 1994, occupies five rooms in the new Science Center including 3 staff offices and 2 study/workshop rooms which also contain an extensive library of scientific books and four computers to assist students with their studies. The Drop-In Center is the home of a comprehensive academic support program for minority students in Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics.  Program activities include Summer Bridge Program; Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics Tutoring Workshops; Future Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Faculty Club (FSEM); Annual Graduate Fair; Academic Advising and Counseling, GRE Workshops; and Scholarships and Internships. 

Other programs in the Office of Diversity and Special Academic Projects include the NSF funded Alabama Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation ALSAMP, Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) and the Bridge to the Doctorate (BD).
