NMR Usage

The Auburn University NMR Facility is located in CB 116 and CB 121, and it houses the Bruker 250, 400 and 600 MHz instruments.

 The 250 and 400 MHz instruments are available for use by members of the Auburn Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; use of the 600 MHz instrument is for more specialized purposes.

 Potential users of the 600 MHz instrument should contact Professor Smita Mohanty.

The 250 and 400 MHz Instruments

Potential users of the 250 and 400 MHz instruments must gain approval from Mike Meadows (NMR lab director).

Approved users must follow the policies on the sign-up sheet posted at the 400 MHz instrument to reserve instrument time.

The Teaching Assistant in charge of maintaining the liquid nitrogen and helium for the 250 and 400 MHz instruments is WenChang Jiang.

 The printed manuals and guides are located next to the 400 MHz instrument console, and pdfs are available from the Help menu at the consoles.

If any malfunctions with the 250 and 400 MHz instruments are encountered they should be noted in the logbook, and reported to Mike Meadows (NMR lab director).
