2009 Davis Arboretum Photo Contest
Every year the Davis Arboretum puts together a photo contest. Local residents, students, professors, and even children enter their photos into the contest. This year the contest was divided into six catagories for the adult entries including Birds and Mammals, Arboretum, Reptiles and Amphibians, Other Wildlife, Flora, and Artistic Merit. The youth division entries were divided by age groups of 1st-4th grades and 5th-7th grades. Cash prizes and gift certificates donated by Cameragraphics were awarded to first place winners. There were also honorable mention awards, as well as a ribbon to the winner of the "Best in Show" photo. When it was all over and done with, the winning photographs were proudly displayed in Biggin Hall where a "People's Choice Award" was voted upon for one week. Below are the winning photos along with a few extra entries that we liked. Click on them for a larger view.
