     Wind Creek State Park, seven miles southeast of Alexander City on Highway 128, spans 1,445 acres of pine and hardwood ridges on the shoreline of beautiful Lake Martin.  Wind Creek's fully equipped modern campground contains 640 sites spread over 320 acres.  Each site provides a picnic table, grill, water, and electricity.  Park facilities include a camp store, marina, play areas, hiking trails, heated restrooms and showers, pavilions for picnicking and a 210-foot fishing pier.

    Wind Creek's major attraction is sparkling Lake Martin, one of Alabama's largest manmade lakes, with 40,000 acres of clean, clear water.  Lake Martin provides excellent sport fishing, water skiing, boating, swimming, and canoeing.


     Wind Creek State Park is located in east central Alabama approximately 45 minutes northwest of Auburn University.  It sits near the northern tip of Lake Martin.  The park is about 7 miles from downtown Alexander City.

The park is located just off U.S. Route 280, which runs between Columbus, GA and Birmingham, AL.

Auburn Marines will place directional signs at key turns off of U.S. Rte. 280 and AL Rte. 63.  If unsure about how to get to the park, feel free to contact a member of the Auburn NROTC staff for directions.
