United States Marine Corps Commissioning
Well, if you're looking here, chances are you want to be commissioned when you graduate.  This page is designed to outline the procedures that MECEPS and Marine Options must accomplish in order to receive an appointment as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps.
Commissioning Time Line:

1)Upon Arrival to the NROTC Unit: Ensure your BUMED/DODMERB physicals are complete and up to date. These physicals are good for 5 years and will be your commissioning physical.

2)Annually: Complete Annual Certification of Physical Condition Form

3)Summer following Junior Year (freshman year for MECEPs): Successfully complete OCS

4)One Year Prior to Commissioning: Request for Appointment (RFA) as a 2nd LT should be submitted at this time. This allows HQMC time to review your packet, and request revisions / clarifications.

REMEMBER, YOUR REQUEST FOR APPOINTMENT (RFA) MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR EXPECTED COMMISSIONING DATE!!
