Callie Leaver was born in Louisville, KY and raised in Doraville, GA. She enlisted in the Army in October, 1987 and completed basic training and advanced individual training at Fort McClellan, AL. After completing four years of active duty and four years in the United States Army Reserves, she left the Army to pursue a civilian career as a Financial Crimes Investigator. In December 2001, in response to the September 11 attack, she enlisted into the Georgia Army National Guard.
Ms. Leaver’s previous duty positions include Military Police Investigator, Law and Order NCO, MACOM Career Counselor, Georgia Army National Guard Casualty Operations NCOIC and Team Leader through Operations Sergeant Major. Currently, she is assigned to the 170th Military Police Battalion, GAARNG, Decatur, GA as the Command Sergeant Major.
Ms. Leaver’s previous deployments include Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle and two Operation Enduring Freedom tours to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She also served in support of the G8 Summit, Sea Island, GA and Hurricane Katrina Disaster support operations, Saint Bernard Parish, LA.
Ms. Leaver’s military schools include all non commissioned officer leadership courses through United States Army Sergeants Major Course, Military Police Investigators Course, Drug Suppressions Operations Course, Traffic Management Coordinator Course, Total Army Instructors Training Course, Battalion Career Counselor Course, and First Sergeants Course. She has Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from West Georgia College, Carrollton, GA.
