Captain Nicholas R. Hodge
S1/Military Science I Instructor

Captain Nicholas R. Hodge entered the US Army in 1992. Upon completion of Infantry Basic Training at Ft Benning, Georgia, he was subsequently assigned to the 3rd BN 22nd Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (L), Hawaii.  In 2002 CPT Hodge was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the US Army Officer Candidate School.

CPT Hodge’s first assignment was in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as Executive Officer of Bravo Battery 3rd BN (Airborne), 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. His other assignments include Assistant S-3 (Operations) 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Assistant S-3 (Operations and Plans) 3rd BN 141st Infantry Regiment (Task Force Alamo),  Executive Officer Alpha Battery 3rd BN (Airborne), 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and Platoon Leader of Delta Battery 3rd BN (Airborne), 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. During this time he deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II and again with 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VI. Upon completion of the Captains Career Course in 2006, he was assigned to the 1st BN 507th (ABN), Parachute Infantry Regiment, FT Benning, GA as the Commander of Alpha Company.

CPT Hodge’s military education includes the Air Defense Officer Basic Course, the Air Defense Captain’s Career Course, the Basic Airborne Course, Jumpmaster Course, Air Assault Course, Pathfinder Course, the US Army Combatives Trainer Certification Course and the SINCGARS Instructor Course. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree in Management from Texas Tech University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Management and Leadership from the University of Texas El Paso.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with four OLC, the Army Achievement Medal with one OLC, the National Defense Service Medal with one service star, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Over Seas Service Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon.. CPT Hodge has also earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, the German Proficiency Badge (Gold), and German, Mexican, Italian and Canadian  Foreign Jump Wings.

CPT Hodge is married to the former Jennifer Lynn Hart of San Antonio, Texas.
