Major Andrew Heymann
Assistant Professor of Military Science
     

MAJ Andrew L. Heymann is a native of Buffalo, NY and enlisted in the Active Army 10 March 1999. He completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY before getting his commission through Federal OCS at Fort Benning, GA.

MAJ Heymann’s assignments include: B Company, 1/9 Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Hovey, Korea; 1/509 Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Polk, LA; B Company, 2/11 Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA; 1/11 Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA; 258 Rear Area Operations Cell (AZ ARNG), LSA Adder, Iraq; and ARNG Warrior training Center, Fort Benning, GA. 

MAJ Heymann has served in the following duty positions: Mechanized Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Airborne Infantry Platoon Leader, OPFOR Platoon Leader, Assistant Operations Officer, Battalion Logistics officer (S-4), HHC Commander, Installation Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer, IOBC and OCS Senior Platoon Trainer, and Modern Army Combatives Instructor. MAJ Heymann also served three years as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

His military education includes the Officer Candidate School, Infantry Officer Basic Course (IOBC), Infantry Mortars Leader’s Course (IMLC), Bradley Leader’s Course (BLC), The Army Instructor Training Course (TAITC), Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Advanced Course. He has a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Binghamton University.

Operational experience includes: Operation Iraqi Freedom (Kuwait/Iraq).

His awards include the: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3-OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, Level Four Combatives certification, and The Order of St. Maurice.

MAJ Heymann currently resides in Columbus, GA.
