3)  IN PERSON INTERVIEW MEETING(S):
When an open tutor or desk worker position is available selected candidates are asked to meet in person with the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to discuss employment. Dress is student casual and the meeting should last no longer than 40 minutes.  On occasion, potential employees are asked back for a second meeting to participate in a “mock tutoring session” designed to help evaluate their curriculum knowledge, helping and social skills, and/or customer service skill set.

4)  IF HIRED, PAYROLL PAPERWORK NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED:
If and when a student is hired they will then need to follow up with Ms. Sandy Baker (bakersa@auburn.edu) to complete the necessary paperwork placing them on Auburn University’s payroll.  Students will need to bring an ORIGINAL Social Security card, current Driver's License or Passport, and a voided check (the latter will need to be left with Ms. Baker for direct deposit purposes).

5)  TRAINING & EVALUATION:
Each Study Partners’ staff member is required to attend a total of 10 paid hours of training each year to help complete tutor certification.  Additionally tutors are periodically observed during their work hours to provide opportunity for growth and development and to help improve performance.

6)  WORK SCHEDULE TO BE SET:
Study Partners’ Tutors set their own work schedule within the hours Study Partners is officially open.  Depending upon the courses a tutor is expected to tutor, staff members are assigned a maximum amount of hours per week that they may work; this ranges from 5 to 10 hours a week depending on the curriculum area and the demand for tutoring in that area.  Desk Worker hours are set by mutual agreement between the desk supervisor and employee.

7)  TUTORING TAKES PLACE:
The service we provide is valuable and needed by the students at Auburn University and our staff members have not only earned an A or high B in all courses they tutor (unless they tested out of a course), but they truly enjoy helping students to learn the course material.  If this describes you, we look forward to receiving your completed application and two recommendation letters.
