School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences

The Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Learning Community is a group of 25 students in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences who share a common interest in the outdoors and protecting our renewable natural resources.  All incoming freshmen in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences are eligible to participate.  Students are assigned to the same courses in the fall and spring semester of their first year, taking UNIV 1050: Success Strategies, English 1100: English Composition I, and BIOL 1020/1021 Principles of Biology with Lab in the Fall and FOWS 1010 Introduction to Renewable Natural Resources, English 1120: English Composition II, and BIOL 1030/1031: Organismal Biology with Lab in the Spring.  This is a unique opportunity to meet other students with similar interests and be introduced to faculty members in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences.  Students are encouraged to attend Forestry Club, Wildlife Society meetings, and activities of their own design.  If you are looking for the fastest way to make connections on the wilder side of campus, this is your ticket!
