Academic Support is designed to assist students in refining and strengthening the academic skills necessary for success at Auburn University. Our staff works closely with other departments on campus and offers the following services:
 
 
  • RALPH BROWN DRAUGHON LIBRARY
  • ACADEMIC COACHING & COUNSELINGOur staff utilizes many tools in assisting students with academics. We offer one-on-one academic coaching and other resources geared toward student success.
  • ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE POLICIESA complete review of academic performance policies and definitions of student statuses are available.
  • STUDY SMART These credit and non-credit courses are designed to improve the academic performance and overall success of students. Study Smart courses are geared toward students on academic warning or suspension.
  • STUDY PARTNERSFree peer tutoring is provided during Fall and Spring semesters in select undergraduate subjects to all AU students. All Study Partners have received recommendations from professors and have been trained by the Academic Support staff.
  • SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI)This program targets traditionally difficult courses. It offers regularly scheduled, collaborative, peer directed review sessions. The review sessions are lead by SI leaders who attend and take notes in these classes.
  • TUTORING WEBSITEDesigned to aid students, faculty, and staff in easily accessing information concerning tutoring opportunities available on campus, specifically by presenting specific subject and skill development information.
  • PRIVATE TUTORING WEBSITEThis is a resource to assist students and private tutors to connect. The tutors that monitor the posts have been pre-screened by the Academic Support Office, but are independent agents. Since the tutors are not employed by our office we are unable to assist with any issues associated with your tutoring sessions. It is up to the student, parent, and tutor to negotiate an hourly rate, payment schedule, duration, location, and frequency of tutoring sessions.
