Welcome to Auburn’s Faculty mentoring website!  The purpose of this site is to provide easy access to information and resources to enhance the professional development of our faculty.

Goal of Faculty Mentoring

Whether it is adjusting to new academic policies or simply adapting to Auburn’s campus, assistance from a well-respected mentor can be an invaluable supplement to the guidance and support new faculty receive from a department during the early years.

Many mentoring opportunities are available in most academic departments, and the Early Career Mentoring Program is designed to complement departmental mentoring.  Launched in fall 2009, the structure of Auburn’s Early Career Faculty Mentoring is expected to grow and develop each year to meet the needs of our faculty.

Mentoring Opportunities

The Faculty Mentoring Program supports various opportunities for development through programs offered by the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, the Office of the Vice President for Research, University Outreach, Women’s Initiatives, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs,  and the Provost’s Office.

Mentoring allows senior faculty to serve as a resource and provide advice about topics including: how to function effectively in the college’s organizational structure, managing professional responsibilities, increasing awareness of available resources for professional development, and achieving greater satisfaction with career programs.

If you are interested in learning more about participating in the program, please contact Dr. Donna Sollie at sollidl@auburn.edu or 844-4392.
