The Radio, TV, and Film major instructs students in a wide variety of ways to understand the mass media. Production and writing courses teach students the basic skills necessary to work as media professionals. The majority of our upper-division courses focus on cultivating and understanding the development of radio, television, and film in the United States; on developing critical and analytical skills in interpreting media messages; and understanding business and corporate aspects of media industries.
In addition, RTVF students have many opportunities to gain hands-on, practical media experience from their freshman year to graduation at Eagle Eye News, WEGL-FM 91.1 and several AU sports productions. When a RTVF student graduates from our program, she or he is ready to enter the exciting and challenging media profession.
