The Department of Industrial Design offers a program of rigorous study encompassing multiple facets of consumer and specialty product design within a given cultural and economic context. Completion of the bachelor’s degree enables students to assume leadership roles in industry. Graduate work culminating in the master’s degree prepares students for careers in industry and education. As a Department of Industrial Design located within a state supported land grant institution, it is incumbent upon its programs to support the university mission to serve the educational, research, and extension needs of the state and region. Through this service, opportunities are created for students, professionals, and industry to engage in a rich exchange of ideas and resources which influence and inform the regional, national, and global arenas.
