Human Resource Management is the specialized field in management devoted to strategies and techniques for the effective utilization of people. The field deals with human resource planning, the recruitment and selection of employees, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation and benefits, and employee/labor relations. The HRMN program provides both an organizational and technological perspective on human resource management issues. Students in HRMN are instructed in the use of contemporary methods related to recruiting, training and career development, performance appraisal, compensation and promotion systems, and other policy areas related to effective utilization of human resources. Today, and in the future, substantial entry-level job opportunities exist in ALL businesses and industries for those interested in HRMN, whether in specialized positions or general management.
