Auburn’s Food Science program, which is approved by the Institute of Food Technologists, blends a strong foundation in the basic sciences (chemistry, physics, biology and engineering) with the multidisciplinary expertise of faculty from Auburn’s Animal Sciences, Poultry Science and Biosystems Engineering departments. Students also have opportunities to interact directly with the food industry through internships and other problem-solving experiences linked directly to industry needs and issues. In addition, Food Science students have access to undergraduate research experiences that prepare them for work on graduate and professional degrees.
