Class Registration at Camp War Eagle

Incoming freshmen and their parents always have a few questions about what classes they should register for at Camp War Eagle. The classes you should really focus on registering for are all of your core classes. These include your Math, Science, English Comp, and a few other electives. Also, there are a few majors that have certain course outlines laid out for you, but you will get to hear from your advisors at Camp War Eagle and they will explain those if it applies to you. If you don’t have a major declared or just have no idea what you want to do yet, not only are you going to find your way, you’re definitely not the only one. I didn’t declare a major until my sophomore year and I’m on track and have found my major as of right now, so you definitely don’t need to worry.

As far as your schedule goes, you can find comfort in the fact that you will not leave Camp War Eagle without a minimum of 12 hours, which is what you need to be considered a full time student. One of the advisors and a few Camp Counselors will make sure that your schedule has at least 12 hours, or more if you’d like, before walking out of the computer lab. These will all be classes that you need to work towards graduation as well, so really, don’t worry about it. Also, the same number of classes are set aside for each session, so going to an earlier Camp War Eagle session does not mean you have a better chance of getting into a class. For example, going to session 1 does not mean you will probably get English Composition 1 at the exact time you want it when someone who goes to session 8 has no chance because all the classes are taken up. If there are 8 seats open in that class for registration during session 1, there will be 8 seats open in that same class in session 8. Honestly, there is a good chance you will not get exactly what classes you want exactly when you want them. Sometimes students do get their ideal schedule, and that’s great. But realistically, it just doesn’t always work out that way. You will get a good, workable schedule and the hours you need, but it might not be your ideal schedule. You may have to work with some 8:00 A.M. classes even though you’re not a morning person, but that’s just the way it works sometimes. Overall, you will get the hours you would like and a good schedule to start off with. For some people this is the most stressful part of camp, but honestly it’s not bad at all with the help of our fantastic advisors and excellent counselors.
