Welcome!

Welcome and War Eagle to our Freshman Year Experience Blog. Our office coordinates Camp War Eagle, our freshman orientation program, as well as SOS (Successfully Orienting Students) which is our transfer orientation program. The purpose of this blog is to keep you up to date on what is going on in our office and to address any question you may have along the way! If you only want to read blog posts about one of our orientation programs than click on “Articles by Category” on the right side of the blog and select either “Camp War Eagle” or “SOS.”

All of our student leaders have been selected. Our 36 Camp War Eagle Counselors were hired in November and have been in training since January. We hired 31 SOS Orientation Leaders in late January and they have been in training for a few weeks. This week we interviewed and selected our Camp War Eagle Parents Counselors who will find out if they were selected for one of our 20 positions TONIGHT! Parent Counselor training starts next week. We are very proud of all our student leaders who are truly the best of the best at Auburn. These students spend over 3 hours a week in training and are here to help all of our incoming students and their parents.

It is quite busy in the office. Our first SOS session is two weeks from tomorrow and our first Camp War Eagle session is in 90 days! I encourage you to come back and visit our blog to read about what is going on in our office. Blogs will be written by our professional staff members as well as our head orientation student staff members. To learn more about our bloggers click on our “Meet Our Bloggers” page.

Also if you would like to talk with the staff on-line, we have a Live Chat feature that we just launched today. There are chat icons on the FYE, Camp War Eagle and SOS homepages. Feel free to take advantage of this quick way to communicate with us or ask a question. As orientation gets closer the phone lines get busier!

War Eagle!
Jenn
