The past few weeks have been a whirlwind around here. We wrapped up Camp War Eagle 2009 in mid-July then most of the staff took some much needed time off. The second week of August we held an SOS session right before the start of classes. With the start of a new academic year came a change in student leadership in our offices. We have new SOS Orientation Leader Coordinators, Head Camp Counselors and new Head Parent Counselors. We also have two new graduate assistants in our office.

On Tuesday, all of our students and professional staff were invited to the President’s mansion for a Student Leader Recognition Reception. The was the first time many of us have gone to the President’s house and Dr. & Mrs. Gogue hosted the reception in the new outdoor facility. We were the first large group to have been hosted there where was really exciting. Dr. Gogue and the Vice President for Student Affairs each said some words to the group. There were about 60 students there and surprisingly (or maybe not) nearly half of them have been involved as leaders in our office. We got our 10 students together for a picture with Dr. Gogue which they were all very excited about!
