CWE Student Schedule Day 2

Students will receive a wake-up call at 6:45am. Breakfast will be provided in the lobbies of your residence hall – a delicious array of drinks, muffins, granola bars, butter and sausage biscuits.

 The day will continue by meeting their counselor outside at and beginning Tiger Talk 3 which covers information on changing majors, core classes, and general classroom knowledge.

Next up is an exhilarating look at Auburn’s campus as you join your group on a tour of Auburn’s campus. In conjunction with the tour, you will have time to browse Tiger Tables which include representatives from many departments around campus like the Medical Clinic, Tiger Dining, ROTC, and AU Bands to name a few.

 College Life Sessions then start at in the Student Center. Students will be presented with different activities that cover each portion of Auburn’s Creed http://www.auburn.edu/main/auburn_creed.html

 Lunch begins at noon, and both students and parents have several options. The meal ticket you will receive at Camp covers lunch within the Student Center which includes delicious options like Chik-fil-a, Au Bon Pain, Mama Leone’s Pizza, and more! There is also a banquet style parent luncheon that both parents and students are invited to enjoy. Another option is to go off campus to nearby down town lunch options such as Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and Toomer’s Corner.

 After lunch Concurrent Sessions will be taking place. You pick any two that you would like to attend. Options include but are not limited to: Greek Life, Getting Involved, Learning Communities, and Tiger in a New Territory for out-of-state students.

 In the afternoon students and their guests will be in advising in their respective colleges. Advisors will be able to answer questions about AP/IB and transfer credit, as well as what classes are needed for the major, and any other questions students and guests may have. *Some colleges may end before 4:00 and some have been known to go a little over time.

 The Business Fair featuring businesses from the Auburn-Opelika area will be set up in the Student Center for students and guests to browse, taste, and enjoy until the 5:15pm when students will head back to the Quad to meet up with their counselors. *Note: The residence halls where the students will be staying will be locked until 5:15pm*

 Students will have the opportunity to put their acquired materials in their rooms and will join their Camp Counselors for a short meeting that will begin to prepare them for schedule-making which will follow dinner.

 Students will eat dinner with their groups in the Student Center Ballroom. Meal options include a BBQ Sandwich or Ham/Turkey/Roast Beef Sandwich, chips, cookie, and a drink.

 That evening students making their schedules for the next day’s registration. This exercise is to help students get in the habit of scheduling their classes – something most have never experienced.

 Later, the Real World Skit will take place. This skit is written and performed by the camp counselors and covers a wide range of social issues commonly faced in college such as underage drinking and time management.

 Following the skit students will have a chance to debrief their thoughts with their camp counselors during Tiger Talk 5.

 Students find themselves in the ballroom once again for AU Mania. AU Mania is an event co-sponsored by Auburn’s University Program’s Council (UPC) http://www.auburn.edu/upc/ Past entertainment acts have included comedians, hypnotists, interactive game shows, and magicians.

 After AU Mania Students will regroup with their counselors for a final time to go over the next day’s agenda and fill out a Camp War Eagle survey about their experience over the past 48 hours.

 Campers will return to their respective Residence Halls and have the option of working on their schedule with help from Camp Counselors in their lobby until midnight.
