War Eagle!
Session 3 of Camp was fairly different from previous sessions. It provided a very unique opportunity for families of incoming students with younger siblings who may have been anxious or unsure about their big brother or sister coming to Auburn in the fall. Tiger Cubs is a one-day program that runs during Day 2 of Camp War Eagle for 6-12 year old siblings of campers attending with their parents. To better accommodate these families, the session begins on a Sunday afternoon and ends Tuesday.
At Session 3, we had 12 Tiger Cubs participate in an exciting day of activities! They started the morning with some crafts including making their very own Tiger Card and a picture frame. Next, they were able to write letters to their older siblings to tell them how proud they were and that they couldn’t wait to be an Auburn Tiger too! As a special treat, Aubie and some of his cheerleader friends stopped by for a pep rally to teach cheers and take pictures with the group. After lunch, everyone took a tour of campus on a Tiger Transit bus just like real Auburn students. To end the afternoon, the group was able to choose from a special assortment of AU goodies before returning to their parents and siblings.
A huge “thank you” goes to two past SOS leaders who assisted with the program. Clair and Meg made sure that everyone had a fun-filled experience. The program was a success thanks in large part to their hard work and energy throughout the day!
Another session of Tiger Cubs will be held during Session 7 on June 28-30. Be sure to visit www.auburn.edu/cwe for more information or to sign up your Tiger Cub today!!
