War Eagle everyone, Jenn here – one of the Camp War Eagle staff members. We have been very very busy the last few weeks and I apologize for the fact we have not updated the blog. The first week of May was Finals Week on campus and while the students took finals the Freshman Year Experience staff members worked out last minute details for the weeks ahead. May 10th through May 19th was “training week” for our Camp Counselors and Parent Counselors. May 20th kicked off our first session of Camp War Eagle and as of today we just finished up our third session. Our next Camp session is not until June 10th so our Counselors will get to have a nice few days off and for those of us who work in the office we can start to clear out our overloaded inboxes and work on our “to-do” lists. Also over the next week please check back because we will have a number of our staff members blogging about the past few sessions of Camp and well about blog about things coming up.
One other quick thing I want to mention. We have 2 new grad students working in our office and we are thrilled to have them. Brittney Hopson is a 2009 graduate from LaGrange College and just started her Masters in Higher Education here at Auburn. Brittney started working for us session two and jumped right in. Chris Landry is our summer NODA intern. NODA is a national orientation organization that hosts a graduate student internship program. Chris is finishing his Masters in Higher Education at LSU, where he also received his Bachelors. We are hoping to change the color of his “tiger stripes” by the time the summer is over.
