The SOS Staff started off first-round interviews for SOS Orientation Leader this week. The group process was something new and different we decided to try out. It was interesting to see, turned out well, and we received some great feedback. Then we talked about second round interviews and selections meetings. This time next week we will have new Orientation Leaders! We also discussed the schedule for Friday’s SOS Session and worked through the things to do.
CWE:
All of the HCC’s hard work paid off; we now have our 36 2010 Camp Counselors! We couldn’t be happier! We all are super excited to start getting to know them and looking forward to spring training. Since Callouts are now behind us, we must now focus on the future. The CWE Staff is in the process of discussing various topics and delegating different assignments of the Spring and Summer.
On the other side of CWE, the Head Parent Counselors are now beginning discussion of publicity strategies. They have great ideas in the making! We all are looking forward to see their success next semester.
Staff Meetings: 11/17/09
SOS:
The SOS Staff is busy but very excited about this week. 2nd Round interviews for SOS Orientation Leaders were held Monday through Wednesday. SOS Callouts are on Thursday, November 19, 2009. The SOS Staff couldn’t be happier about getting the new Orientation Leaders!
CWE:
We began this week’s staff meeting with the Head Parent Counselors and their updates. They ran through their Info. Session and corrected what was needed. Our HPCs are also already on the ball with publicity for nest semester. They have everything from vinyl banners to Aubie at basketball games holding signs for PC applications and info. We also assigned the HPCs selections assignments to be in charge of. On the flip side of CWE, the HCCs are now in Spring and Summer mode. We are discussing assignments and ideal CWE schedules for 2010. The HCCs are so excited about their new Camp Counselors that they are planning a few socials so everyone can start getting to know their fellow counselors and staff.
Next week we will not meet; we all will be celebrating the Thanks giving holiday with family and friends.
Since the SOS Orientation Leader applications due date is approaching, next Monday, November 9, the SOS Staff is finishing up some last push publicity and working on the selection process. We all are ready for the applications to start flowing in! The OLCs also ran through and critiqued their next Info. Session. During Homecoming week, the OLCs will be hosting an Info. Social at Cheeburger Cheeburger, Thursday November 5 @ 7pm. They will also be making a special announcement at the Homecoming Pep Rally, Friday November 6. The SOS staff is also busy with next week’s SOS Session. We are just ironing out the last few things to get done. This time next week the SOS Staff will be running 1st Round interviews; we are super excited!
CWE Staff Meeting:
Since the CWE Staff was busy running camp counselor interviews, the meeting was postponed to another week. Callouts are this Thursday, and we all couldn’t be more excited to see all of the 2010 CCs!
Even though there was not a Staff meeting, the Head Parent Counselors and a couple of staff members met to began their publicity discussion. The HPCs have some great, new ideas. We can’t wait to get everything started!
Since SOS Orientation Leader applications are out now, the SOS Staff meeting was more geared toward the next few stages: selections, call outs, and OL training. Applications are due Monday, November 9 so we are putting out our last wooden billboards and getting ready for the first round interviews. The OLCs are working on the interview time sign up sheet and figuring out all the directions of the group activity. The group activity is something new we are testing out this year, hopefully everything will go smoothly. The staff also discussed the interview score sheets and made necessary corrections or additions. With selections comes…Callouts! The SOS Staff is super excited for this upcoming year! We are even planning for next spring’s training!

CWE:
Today’s CWE Staff meeting was held right after our last Information Session. It was so exciting to see all of the smiling faces that could potentially be working with CWE! The Camp Counselor applications are due this Friday, October 23 at noon so, that day will be extremely busy around here. With selections right around the corner, the HCCs are busy scheduling campus representatives, FYE staff, and greeters for the interviews. The next few weeks at Foy 189 are going to be very hectic, but exciting. Callouts are coming! The CWE Staff ran through the schedule for Callouts and made some additions. The CWE Staff can’t wait to meet their 2010 Camp Counselors! The HCCs have done an amazing job publicizing CWE and representing the FYE office well. Their hard work will definitely pay off very soon!
