The Cater Center for Academic Career Excellence

YOUR FUTURE AND YOUR SUCCESS!

The goal of the Cater Center for Academic Career Excellence is to implement comprehensive, multidisciplinary, student-centered educational support and advising services for students with open career options.

Who does the Cater Center Serve?

Students MUST be referred by their academic advisor in their home college. 

Students who may be experiencing difficulty maintaining the necessary GPA to take classes in their major or remain in their college.

What exactly does the Cater Center Provide?

Academic Advising	The Cater Center provides a full-time academic advisor to assist students with course advising, schedule building and creating a practical plan of study.
Academic Counseling & Coaching	Along with an Academic Advisor, several Academic Coaches are also available to assist students with academic issues and problems they may be facing. Assessing individual learning styles, our Academic Coaches are available to help students develop learning habits that are right for them.
Career Counseling	Globally, students change their majors anywhere between 3-5 times while they are in college. Knowing the career field that best suits you is the key to success. The Cater Center provides staff from Career Development Services to assist students in finding the career path that is just right for them!
Individual Assessment	Every Auburn student is different, therefore the Cater Center provides personal assessment opportunities for students to determine unique and individual character strengths and opportunities for growth. Students can take assessment instruments such as the Focus, TypeFocus, LASSI and more!
Personal Counseling	A representative from Student Counseling Services is available to assist students with personal challenges, such as transitioning to college, fitting in, finding their place at Auburn, relationship issues and much more.
Goal Setting	Identifying where students what to go during their time at Auburn is essential to developing a plan of action. Students are provided with opportunities to set academic and personal goals, along with a plan to achieve their goals!
