About Educational Support Services

These values comprise the foundation from which Educational Support Services fulfills its mission at Auburn University.

Education
Enhancing students’ educational experience serves as a foundation for all academic programs and services we provide.  Helping students make meaningful connections between curricular and co-curricular experiences is what drives our staff, student leaders and peer mentors.  Our offices share responsibilities with faculty who are committed to scholarship, interdisciplinary service learning and to foster an environment that supports and encourages life-long learning.

Services
Educational Support Services offers a wide range of essential services that address the needs of our students. Some services are provided to meet students' basic needs, while others directly contribute to academic success, personal growth and career development.

Rights & Responsibilities
While students are responsible for their own lives, Educational Support Services assists them in understanding their rights and freedoms, accepting their responsibilities and learning from the consequences of their actions. Staff members serve as advocates, ensuring that students' interests are valued and considered in all aspects of the University and the larger community.

Diversity
The University fosters a multicultural environment in which the dignity and unique characteristics of the individual are recognized and respected. Educational Support Services develops inclusive policies, programs and services that value the contributions and aspirations of individuals and groups and support the pursuit of shared purposes and values.

Partnership
Collaboration among Educational Support Services and the faculty and staff of the colleges and schools, advisors, and outreach offices is essential. Educational Support Services also works closely with other University and community organizations.  An ongoing partnership with students is the foundation of these alliances. All of these collaborative efforts are essential to providing programs, services and activities that assist students in meeting their educational goals.
