Policy Exceptions to the Revised Core Curriculum

  • Policy Exceptions-Students on current core (pre-fall 2011)

  • The new Political Science course, POLI 1050, can fulfill the Social Science Group 2 requirement for students on the old Core.
  • Students on the current Core Curriculum (pre-2011) can pick from the longer menu of approved Philosophy courses to meet the Core Philosophy requirement.
  • Policy Exceptions-Honors students

  • An exemption exists for the 2010 Honors college students in need of meeting a particular SLO if they otherwise satisfy the core and would need to take additional core courses to meet it (due toenrollment in the special honors interdisciplinary courses in 2010-2011).
  • General Implementation Notes

  • Some Colleges and Schools are not advising at every CWE session this summer. Colleges/Schools not advising at a session of CWE are unable to accept major changes. Students should either stay in their current major or choose a College/School that is advising at this session of CWE. Students may change their major during the first week of the Fall semester. Camp Counselors have more information about what Colleges and Schools are advising each session.

  • If your desired School or College is advising during the session a student attends, he/she may change their major with the exception of the following majors:
    • Interior Design in the College of Human Sciences
    • Pre-Graphic Design and Pre-Architecture in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction
    • Music in the College of Liberal Arts
    • Music Education in the College of Education
