Each year Auburn University celebrates National Student Employee Appreciation Week during the second full week of April. While part-time jobs offer students career enhancing opportunities, students as employees make substantial contributions to the operation of the University and the local community. The Career Center encourages Auburn Univeristy departments, colleges and offices as well as Auburn/Opelika area businesses to celebrate student employee contributions during Student Employee Appreciation Week. Student Employee Appreciation Week enables us to thank Auburn students for the contributions they make as employees to the University and the surrounding community.
2015 Office Decorating Contest - A Student Employee Appreciation Week tradition, the Auburn University Career Center is sponsoring an office decorating contest to encourage departments to recognize their student employees in fun and creative ways. Judging will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 and the winning office will receive a pizza party for up to 25 people. To participate, contact Alexandra Reiner at email@example.com or 334-844-3867 by Wednesday, April 8, 2015 to let us know your office and employees will be participating.
2015 Student Employee and Supervisor of the Year Awards
The Student Employee of the Year Awards is a hallmark of National Student Employment Week. The awards are a part of a larger, national competition which includes any college or university who wishes to participate. Students employed both on and off campus, as well as their supervisors, can be nominated for their outstanding job as student employees or supervisors and potentially win one of three awards - On-Campus Student Employee of the Year, Off-Campus Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year. Please read below for criteria and the nomination process.
The annual awards ceremony will be hosted during National Student Employment Week in which all nominees and nominators will be invited to attend. Refreshments, recognition of nominees, and awards will be given. Student winners are eligible to continue on to the Regional and National Level competition at which monetary prizes are awarded. Auburn University hosted the National On-Campus Student Employee of the Year in 2013!
During National Student Employment Week festivities, the Student Employee of the Year Recognition Ceremony will honor two outstanding student employees selected from nominated candidates, one employed on-campus and one employed in the community.

During 2015's National Student Employment week festivities, the Auburn University Career Center has added a new award to honor an Outstanding Supervisor of the Year. This supervisor must directly supervise student employees.
Once nominations close on February 6, 2015, the review committee will rank the nominees and determine top 3 candidates in both student categories and a top candidate in the supervisor category. The top 3 candidates in both student categories will interview with the review committee and based on the rankings and evaluation of responses during the interviews winners for both the On Campus Student Employee of the Year and the Off Campus Student Employee of the Year will be determined. The Supervisor of the Year Award will be determined based on the required nomination form and letter of support provided by the student nominator.
The recipient of the on-campus award is eligible to compete for the regional Student Employee of the Year (SASEA). The regional winner will compete for the title of National Student Employee of the Year. Regional and National winners receive cash awards.
National Student Employment Week (NSEW) presents a unique and rare opportunity for your business to have an on-campus marketing presence. All support will be recognized on the event website and in all marketing materials.
