Types of Student Employment

On-Campus
On-Campus positions typically offer between 10 and 20 hours of work per week and pay on average $8.29 per hour. Positions vary between departments and offices but can involve clerical work, customer service, technical support, or general labor. Approximately 3,000 undergraduate students work on campus.

Off-Campus
Off-Campus positions are an excellent way to develop your network outside of the university. The majority of off-campus employers are extremely willing to work with a student's class schedule and provide some level of flexibility in work scheduling. You are more likely to locate an off-campus position that is related to your career goals and can enhance skills specific to your industry. Additionally, there are many off-campus employers within walking distance of campus.

Seasonal and Temporary
Seasonal and Temporary positions offer employment during school breaks or on a one-time basis. You can expect to find yardwork, seasonal child care, and summer jobs listed as seasonal and temporary. Seasonal and temporary jobs are a great option for students who are only able to work when not enrolled in classes.
