Welcome to the Auburn University Interdisciplinary University Studies Degree!

The Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary University Studies, offered through the Office of Undergraduate Studies, allows students to attain a broad education and acquire diverse skill sets unique to a profession they desire.  Students seeking an Interdisciplinary University Studies Degree have the opportunity to create a personalized academic program.  Students are allowed to customize a curriculum that demonstrates proficiency in broad skills as well as discipline-specific knowledge.

Important Update for Interdisciplinary Studies Prospective and Current Students:

Students who wish to apply for admission to the IDSC program must turn in their IDSC application materials to Room 113 in Cater Hall by Friday, April 19, 2013 at 4:30 pm, in order to be considered as an IDSC program student for summer or fall of 2013.  This deadline will be the last date for students to be admitted under the current curriculum model. The application materials must include ALL of the following to be considered for admission:

  • Approved Plan of Study
  • Goal Statement
  • Signed Mentor Approval Sheet

Current IDSC students who plan to complete their Capstone experience during Summer 2013, MUST turn in their Capstone Syllabus and Signed Capstone Approval Sheet by Friday, April 19, 2013 at 4:30 pm, in order to be enrolled in the UNIV 4930/4980 Capstone course for Summer 2013. Only complete materials will be considered.

Current IDSC students who plan to complete their Capstone experience during Fall 2013, MUST turn in their Capstone Syllabus and Signed Capstone Approval Sheet by Friday, July 31, 2013 at 4:30 pm, in order to be enrolled in the UNIV 4930/4980 Capstone course for Fall 2013. Only complete materials will be considered.

Note – The curriculum model for the Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary University Studies will be changing for those students admitted to the program beginning with the summer term of 2013. Information on specific changes will be posted to this web site.
