Minimum Class Size Guidelines
The following guidelines are to be used in establishing minimum class size:
| Lower division undergraduate classes 1000-2000 |
15 registrants |
| Upper division undergraduate/professional classes 3000-5000 |
12 registrants |
| Piggyback undergraduate/graduate level classes 5000-6000* |
10 registrants |
| Graduate level classes6000 (not piggybacked with 5000 level) |
8 registrants |
| Graduate level classes 7000-8000 level |
5 registrants |
*Number is combination of undergraduate and graduate students in the class.
Continuation of a course or section with fewer than the number of students specified above as of the second class day will require review and approval of the dean of the college or school responsible for the course.
